Journey to London (04.04.11 - 08.04.11)

Our journey began at 6 am in Sulzbach, Germany. We went by bus trough Luxembourg, Belgium and France until we were in Calais, six hours later, where we took the ferry and went to Dover, England. On the ferry, it was very windy outside. But we all were excited, when we saw the coast of England.Thereafter, we went by bus two hours all the way across London. So we could see some of the sights. Finally we were in the hotel, which is called "Windsor House Hotel". Our rooms were traditional british, small and crimped.
After a lot of first shocks and telephone calls we had to go to the Italian restaurant "Lorenzo's", which Fr Siewert had already reserved in advance. As an appetizer, there was pasta, then we ate chicken and vegetables and for
the dessert chocolate cake. After the meal we had freetime until 10 pm. Me and my friends Medine and Mona went for a walk through our area.
The next day was a rainy day. The breakfast wasn't typical for England, no bacon and beans, but toasts with butter and strawberry jam and eggs. We started with a sightseeing tour by bus. We couldn't go out and took photos because of the weather and therefore we took them through the window. After that tour we had freetime again. I went with a few people to the Buckingham palace, Big Ben and the London Eye.After having a dinner in the same restaurant like the day before, I drove with the same group by tube to the Oxford street. At 11 pm, we all were back in the hotel, when the teachers came and controlled, if we all were there. The third day was wonderful warm and sunny. We went to Bath by bus, where we visited old Roman thermal springs and had time to shop. Actually we wanted to go to the Fashion Museum, but there was another group and so, we couldn't. Either way, we enjoyed the sun and ate ice cream or did something else. Then, we went by bus to the famous stone building "Stonehenge". We had an audio guide and admired the aspect.
The dinner was later that day, at 8 pm. In the evening, we were all tired because of the long travelling.
At Thursday, we all went to "Madame Tussauds". There you can really take a lot of photos. And that we did. There was a scary channel, where real actors affrightened the people, and a slowly raft of wagons through the history of England, too.
After the visit, you could decide if you wanted to go to the Wembley stadion or to Greenwich. I was in the group, which went to the stadion. There, we had a very good guided tour. We were allowed to see the cabins and could take a photo with a fake cup. After that, we had freetime again. Some of us went to London Eye and saw England from above. The others went shopping for spending their pounds. The next day was the last day. We packed and went by bus and by ferry the same way we came until we reached our final station, Sulzbach, at half past 10 pm.
